COVID-19 Information

Here's the latest update on the current situation and why you may need to order in advance.

COVID LOCKDOWN No.2

We will be continuing to follow the government guidelines and ensuring that our business remains as safe and COVID-19 free as possible. WE ARE FULLY OPEN. We request that our customers also adhere to to these guidelines and observe social distancing and please wear face masks where appropriate.

To give you a bit more clarity on the situations in the bike trade worldwide feel free to read on :)

FACTORY CLOSURES.
The supply of bikes and components has been adversely affected across the whole cycle industry world wide due to COVID-19.
In the early days of the Pandemic, all of the factories in the Far East that make bikes and components had to close.
Most of these factories make the bikes for all the major bike brands so the knock on effect is huge. Even now in 2022 some factories including Shimano components are closed yet again due to a fresh wave of COVID-19 in the Far East. This is now having a knock on effect that may last into 2024!

BACK UP STOCK.
Normally, distributors and retailers carry a depth of back up stock but due to the situation, that's all gone! The stock situation has been exacerbated buy the enormous additional uptake in cycling world wide by folks that simply wanted to get outside and take some exercise. This in itself has caused much disruption as such a huge rise in bike sales had obviously not been forecast and current lead times for components are now reaching 18 months!

NEW WORLD ORDER.
The situation that we find ourselves in is that bikes will be in short supply and rationed by distributors for at least the next year. We do have many bikes back in stock and have been placing large phased orders since March 2020 and have many hundreds of bikes in the pipeline. We would suggest that if you're thinking of purchasing a new bike at any stage, you need to consider doing some research and chatting to us now about your needs and then securing your bike in advance if not in stock.

FULLY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.
We understand that this is possibly not an ideal way of doing business but these are unprecedented times. We have set up a system where we will talk you through the purchase, offering info on size, specification and approximate date of arrival. When you decide to go ahead we will then require a £100 deposit which is FULLY refundable at any stage if for any reason you decide not to go ahead prior to shipping.
